Hey! Here’s a pretty great thing I’ve gotten the chance to be involved with called Motivarti, a 10 week mentorship program for aspiring artists, illustrators, and animators.

Motivarti is an organization dedicated to providing resources, networking, and inspiration for people who create art related to the entertainment industry. Whether you’re a working professional, a recent graduate, or a student, you’ll find lectures, classes, workshops, and events that will broaden your creative horizons. Motivarti strives to bring together an alliance of entertainment artists, as well as providing motivation and resources to support the community.

Hello, my name is Cory. I am an illustrator. Every year I do at least one main personal illustration project. [2008. 2009. 2010. 2011. 2012.]
Peppered in and amongst my regular client work and my main project I also like to do smaller, more manageable, one-off projects.
I love the evocative and poetic tweets by Kimmy (@aRealLiveGhost) and with her permission I’m illustrating select ones here as one of my smaller projects for 2013.
Enjoy!
A little while ago I got an email from Random House asking if I’d like to review Maurice Sendak’s illustrated Nutcracker.
I jumped at the chance and I’m very pleased to be able to talk about it with you here.

Our mission is to teach professional illustration to aspiring artists and help them make a living doing what they love.
Every kid drew pictures until someone told them they couldn’t. Millions of people wanted to become artists when they grew up, but they were told that being an artist is not a “real job.” Only a few of them will actually make it as professional artists. It doesn’t have to end this way. We want to make this story end differently for these aspiring illustrators and artists by teaching online courses that will help them improve their craft and earn a living doing what they love.

I’m a part of a really cool educational Kickstarter! Check it out if for no better reason than they made me do most of the talking for the video.
“How do I communicate this…” is a thought I have often enough so why on earth make me a spokesman? I don’t know but they did and it worked pretty ok!
The 2012 Fire Sale has been lit! 90 pieces, $25 and up.
It’s already burned down a tiny corner of the internet and now it’s spreading. Some of my favorite ones are already gone.
Check it out and see if there’s something you’d like! Enjoy!
Every now and again a friend will ask what I’m playing these days.
Inevitably my answer is something off the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Whether puzzling my way through another Pushmo, JRPGing with the Denpa Men, or dodging blocks in Speed X 3D, it’s always 3DS eShop games.
The other night I was just like, “Oh my gosh, I love the eShop! I got to do a piece about it.”
Here you go. Enjoy!
